ROBIN NATURE-BOLD & BAND(ISM)
'AUDIO PROJECT' 2004.
www.robinnaturebold.co.uk

"Robin Nature-Bold sound like a cross between Billy Childish and Rolf Harris."
(Lee Taylor, FLUX Magazine, 2004).

"They look completely different to what they sound like, but then they don't… I'm confused, they're what by wife would call 'Oxymoronic'."
(Jo Punter, Beech Road Festival, Manchester, 2004).

"Raiding the limelight of potential success, Robin Nature-Bold will never catch his rainbow, he's a truly deluded being."
(Dr Rorschach Lynhirst, Berlin, 2003).

Born from a photographic piece of work ('In-Denial' print, Lavish Conviction, Manchester, 2001) by nemesis and mentor 'The Gallery Guard', Robin Nature-Bold is never far from being a cartoon of himself. This 'tragi-comical char-actor' ebbs forth into a sad pursuit of 'success' - in-whatever-he-attempts. Robin Nature-Bold is known more for his Artworld failings (he always seems to make artwork ten years too late) and his 'Painful Acting Performances' (at Phush & Misery events, circa 2002/3). He has spent the last couple of years carving out audio works on a five-stringed classical guitar (the D string had snapped years ago and he couldn't be arsed to replace it), kazoo and peppered vocals, under the guidance of Edward Barton and Jane Chavez-Dawson. This year (2004) after a solo performance at 'Group Hug' he was forced by 'The Someone' to form 'Band(ism)' this also coincided with Robin hanging up his kung fu pants, ballaclava and well soiled sweat-jumper for a more 'neo-dandy' staged look, and so 'Robin Nature-Bold & Band(ism)' were born and are enthused to present and display their 'audio project' for those willing to listen.

"I think they're like a well-tempered Captain Beefheart with Pavement tendencies, and there's something a little psychedelic folk about them - maybe it's the outfits or their stage presence, they're a little Jethro Tull for my liking."
(Jo Punter, Beech Road Festival, Manchester, 2004).
